Installation Guide (VS Code)

Follow these steps to set up the Vehicle Management System on your system using Visual Studio Code:

1. Install Python and Django
   Make sure Python (3.9 or later) is installed. Install Django using pip: pip install django
2. Open the Project in VS Code
   Extract the project zip file, then open the folder in VS Code.
3. Create a Virtual Environment (recommended) python -m venv venv Activate it:
   • On Windows: venv\Scripts\activate
   • On Mac/Linux: source venv/bin/activate
4. Install Required Packages
   Install all dependencies using: pip install -r requirements.txt
5. Run Migrations
   Prepare the database by running: python manage.py makemigrations python manage.py migrate
6. Run the Development Server
   Start the server: python manage.py runserver Open your browser and go to: http://127.0.0.1:8000/
