Installation Guide (VS Code Setup)

Step 3: Install Dependencies
For Backend
Open a new terminal in VS Code and navigate to the backend folder:
cd backend
npm install
For Frontend
Open another terminal and navigate to the frontend folder:
cd frontend
npm install
This installs all the required npm packages for both client and server sides.
Step 4: Configure Environment Variables
Inside the backend folder, create a new file named .env and add the following variables:
MONGO_URI=your_mongodb_connection_string
PORT=5000
EMAIL_USER=your_email@example.com
EMAIL_PASS=your_email_password
Make sure to replace the placeholders with your actual credentials.
Step 5: Start the Backend Server
Run the following command in the backend terminal:
npm start
If successful, you’ll see:
Server running on http://localhost:5000
MongoDB connected successfully
Step 6: Start the Frontend Application
Open another terminal and run:
npm run dev
By default, the frontend will run on:

Now, you can access the application in your browser.

- Sign Up and Login:
The user first registers using basic details such as name, email, and password. Once logged in, the system redirects to the User Dashboard. - Book Gas Cylinder:
From the dashboard, users can select the required cylinder quantity and submit a booking request. - Receive Confirmation:
After booking, the system automatically sends a confirmation email with booking details. - Track Order Status:
The user can visit the Order History section to check all ongoing and completed orders. - Logout:
Once done, users can securely log out of the system.
